Launched in Summer 2022, David Collins Studio has designed the 2,400 sq. m clubhouse at Villa Lucca, a luxury residential development located in Hong Kong’s New Territories. The design for Club Lucca draws inspiration from the development's unique natural environ, with a focus on wellness. Traditional Italian architectural references such as terrazzo and archways are used throughout to create the suggestion of a Tuscan hilltop villa. The architectural language of cornicing, architraves, and metal trim provides continuity throughout the project, whilst different material details such as door handles delineate between zones. The monochromatic interior architecture is juxtaposed by block colour palettes to distinguish the different areas and their uses. A unique family of lighting was designed for the project, featuring Portoro stone and metal details with shades of pale onyx and natural alabaster.
The pursuit of beauty for David Collins Studio comes with a powerful sense of permanence. At Club Lucca, materials are selected to age beautifully, and in response to the architecture and use of each space.
