About The Foundation

The David Collins Foundation was created in 2016 to commemorate David Collins, his work, his passion for the arts, his love of beauty and keen sense of newness. The Foundation's board of trustees comprises his friends and former colleagues.

The David Collins Foundation seeks to support talented artists and designers at pivotal points in their careers across a diverse range of artistic mediums, allowing them the space to focus on their research and develop their practice.

Since 2017, The David Collins Foundation has partnered with The Arts Foundation to support the annual Futures Awards. The Foundation's inaugural prize went to furniture designer Max Frommeld in 2017. Subsequent awards have been granted to glass artist Jochen Holz (2018), choreographer Alex Baczyński-Jenkins (2018), poet Will Harris (2019) and filmmaker Onyeka Igwe (2020). In 2021, the Visual Arts prize was awarded to Tanoa Sasraku.

In 2023, The David Collins Foundation will sponsor the Bio Design award.
